Scott Lazar: A Former Magician Turned Poker Pro

Most poker professionals had another profession before deciding to concentrate on playing professional poker. Well, this was actually the profession of Scott Lazar before he became a poker professional.

Scott Lazar is often called "Magic" by his fellow poker professionals or by just about any poker enthusiasts. This is so not because his poker abilities seem to be like magic, but because he was literally a magician prior to his emergence in the poker industry. Scott Lazar also worked as a production assistant for a motion picture company for a short span of time. And as soon as he played poker professionally, he knew that he was ready to abandon his life as a magician and as a production assistant for good.

No poker professional can repudiate the fact that Scott Lazar possesses excellent skills in playing such gambling game. When in front of poker tables, this poker professional sometimes projects admirable poker abilities. Sometimes, his playing style includes projecting inexplicable and strange behavior. Since 2000, Scott Lazar has already been showing exceptional abilities in poker. The first time he joined a major tournament was on February 13, 2000. It was a Limit Hold'em event conducted during the Los Angeles Poker Classic tournament. He finished as the seventh placer and took home the prize money of US$2,415. On February 18 of the same year, Scott Lazar once again tried his luck in the Los Angeles Poker Classic. He once again played a Limit Hold'em game but only finished tenth. Nevertheless, this poker professional took home the prize money of US$1,890.

There is no denying that Scott Lazar has always been fond of playing Limit Hold'em games. When he played such poker game at the Winnin' O the Green Tournament on March 10, 2000, he placed second and received US$14,310.

It was in 2002 that Scott Lazar once again joined a Limit Hold'em game of the Los Angeles Poker Classic. This poker professional only ended as a twenty-fourth placer, but he did earn US$2,559.

This poker professional has also participated in World Series of Poker games several times.

One of the problems that Scott Lazar experienced was being addicted to alcohol which led to his separation from his wife. Lately, alcohol addiction does not seem like to be a problem as he goes on to play poker successfully. Furthermore, he has been spending more quality time with his child. We hope that Scott Lazar will not have an alcohol addiction problem anymore, and just concentrate on being a poker professional and an ideal father to his child.
