Texas Holdem history began in the early days of the 19th century in Robstown, Texas. At that time it was played by cattlemen at ranches through out of Texas. The game originated from Seven Stud Card poker, which was the most popular poker variant of that time. Since cattlemen's life was on the road they had to produce a fast-poker game (since Seven Stud Card is a bit slow and it doesn't allow many players to play when only a single deck is available).The history of Texas Holdem begins there, with the need for a faster poker game, one that allows as many players as possible with one deck only.
Legends tell of a stormy night at which few cattlemen were stuck together in a ranch with no means of entertainment beside on card deck. But they were simply too many players, so Seven Card Stud was not an option. And so, instead of handing out each player seven cards – each received only two – a turn in the history of Texas Holdem –and the five other cards were handed on the table, these were 'community cards'. That's how they saved many cards and many players were able to play simultaneously. That's how Texas Holdem was born.
Sooner after the game spread in Texas like wild fire, unstoppable. It gained popularity over the years until it became the number one poker variant which is played in many places, especially in the online gambling world.
